What to Bring

Art Supplies

Check the course description from the registration page to see whether supplies are included with the course you are taking. Here is a list of supplies to take for the week long workshop.
  1. Large or medium size sketch book
  2. Any drawing materials--pencils, charcoal, conte, color pencils, etc.
  3. Oils or acrylics: recommended colors or your own preference
    • White
    • Black
    • Pthalo Blue
    • Ultramarine Blue
    • Yellow Ochre
    • Cadmium Yellow Light
    • Cadmium Yellow Medium
    • Cadmium Red Light or Vermillion
    • Quinacridone Rose or Rose Madder
    • Burnt Sienna
  4. Canvases in various sizes
    • 4 to 6 small (eg. 8"x14", 6"x10")
    • 2 to 4 large (eg. 20"x30", 24"x36")
  5. Paint rags
  6. Palletes
  7. Paintbrushes
  8. Painting knife

I'll be providing solvents, fixative and some packaging material. I will also have some extra canvasses for sale at cost, but you should be aware that the nearest art supply store is 85 miles away!

Clothing and Other Supplies

  1. Comfortable hiking boots or sneakers
  2. Water repellant wind proof jacket
  3. Warm sweater
  4. Participants during the summer months should bring some warm weather clothing as well
  5. Backpack
  6. Insect repellant
